Can I practice this style of self defense by myself? Can I practice this style of self defense by myself? Yes. Training focuses on developing your reflexes to protect yourself to give you an automatic response to any attack, without practicing with a partner. This is the best way to learn. We include a 'Quick Start Guide' with the video to show you how to use the video for immediate results. I'm thinking about ordering the videos but I've read some mixed reviews. Will you shed some light on the subject? The mixed reviews resulted from an emotional message board exchange between one of Kubler Al's students and another person who likes to write about martial arts. Evidently the other person did not believe the story about the history of Kuta (aka Hikuta) and so he decided that if the history was unbelievable that the system couldn't be effective so he posted his opinion for all to see. However, his efforts seem to have backfired, because many more people have come to find out about us. (It's ironic that the person who wrote these mixed reviews about our art, that he then emailed Kubler Al, asking to receive some of our videos for free so that he could do a review. Kubler Al decided not to give free videos to that person, because many people have used Kuta, including police officers, to defend themselves in real life encounters which already serves as a great review. . How much
can I learn since the videos are not very long? Extreme
Combat demonstrates how to use your
reflexes for self defense.
So when something happens,
your new reflex
will be to defend instantly using
a very powerful strike or kick, so in essence you'll learn a
radical amount of information on how to protect yourself.
Does Hikuta use blocking? I didn't see any in the training materials. Hikuta is a continuous attack system that doesn't use blocks. Blocking is an extra move that delays the end of any confrontation. When attacked by a group, blocking is especially dangerous because it requires the defender to spend more time engaging each attacker. So, at
some point, no matter how fast the defender moves, one of the attackers
will end up behind the defender, hitting the defender on the back of
the head or knocking him down. What was it like training with DOK Lee? How good a fighter was he? The first time that Kubler Al walked through DOK Lee’s front door, he placed a telephone book into his hands and asked him to put it on his chest. He then placed his fingertips on the phone book and literally exploded the most powerful strike Kubler Al had ever felt right through it. The shockwave that traveled through the phone book exploded into his chest slamming him backwards so hard that Kubler Al almost fell on the floor. From that day forward, including all the times Kubler Al stayed at his home, DOK Lee shared extensively with him his knowledge of combat as it pertains to extreme warfare. There were times where Kubler Al felt like the Karate Kid, studying under Mr. Miyagi. He helped DOK Lee plant and harvest vegetables in his garden, he put out feed for deer and other wild animals, as well as helping cook and with shopping. After each trip to visit DOK Lee Kubler Al spent months sorting and organizing all the information that he gave him. Overall Kubler Al spend more than 2,000 hours arranging everything he taught him about Kuta. A large portion of these efforts will be published soon in a book about Kuta or Hikuta as most people refer to it. In regards to his fighting skills, Kubler Al said that while DOK Lee was alive, the U.S. government considered him as the most dangerous man in the world in hand to hand combat. Why did you choose Hikuta? What impressed you about it? When he tried Hikuta he was able to learn it very quickly. He became so much quicker and Hikuta provided a way to use his bodyweight with this newly acquired quickness, giving him the solution he had been looking for, the ability to instantly end a fight, even if he was outnumbered. He was amazed how easy it was to learn Hikuta because he was used to the complex nature and long term learning required in the martial arts.

strikes and kicks share very little, if any similarity to martial arts.
The specialists who developed Hikuta studied everything about the human
body to take maximum advantage of its capabilities.
Military close quarters combat shares a similarity to Hikuta in that
complexity
is avoided by using gross motor skills.
Usually in
Lakewood, California, however we can also travel to your location to provide
training.
Who has been trained by your
organization? Please visit our host seminar page for details. What does Hikuta include? The answer to both questions is no. In some of our videos and photographs a Tae Kwon Do studio can be see. This is because we filmed at several locations including a Tae Kwon Do studio, a film studio, a parking lot, someone's house and an airplane. What is the meaning of Hikuta and where did it come from? The word Hikuta means 'highlights of Kuta'. The word Hikuta was coined by DOK Lee in approximately 1993 for a marketing effort that included the release of a short book and video giving a brief glimpse of the professional art of Kuta. The word ‘Kuta’ means ‘extreme violence that comes from within’. The origin of the professional art of Kuta dates back to ancient Egypt. The earliest known history is that Kuta was provided to the bodyguards of pharaoh to protect him and his court. Then just before Egypt divided into an upper and lower kingdom, the group, known as Kublers, that provided Kuta to the bodyguards departed on a journey that led them deep into China. They remained there for over two thousand years. Then the Kublers migrated into Europe. Throughout their existence the Kublers maintained a code of silence where other than the bodyguards of pharaoh, they shared very little of their knowledge of Kuta. In 1998, two years before the death of DOK Lee, Kubler Al began sharing Kuta with others, with the full blessing and encouragement of DOK Lee. Is private training available? Yes. Call

How long would it take to become effective with Hikuta? In a
matter of
hours. Basically after a one-day Hikuta seminar and four months of home
practice (Twenty minutes for three times each week), a person should be
able to defend in just about any situation using Hikuta. Certain portions
of this training they will be able to perform the same day they learn it.
"In just one hour of Hikuta training I learned just as much as I did in three years of martial arts training." Dave Johnson Does Cutting Edge Combat provide
demonstrations? What kind of shape would I have to
be in to learn
Hikuta? What can I get from this training? No. You
will learn
the skills to either end an attack or to stop it before it begins.
You will not use a stance or any rules that are associated with "reality"
fighting.
Why is the natural movement used by Hikuta beneficial for self-defense? Natural
movement is
more comfortable, which makes the techniques easier to learn and easier
to perform.
Being able to move naturally allows you to move quicker to stop an
attack, and
moving quicker may determine whether or not you survive the attack.
Is it true that Hikuta is effective
even when defending
against a group of attackers? Hikuta
uses your
natural reflexes and gross motor skills to defend against a group
attack by using quick, yet powerful
movement, along with a logical defensive theory. You will not get
yourself up
against a wall. You will get in the middle of the group, which is the
best place
to be when you can move explosive speed and power. Is there a way to defend against a
blind-sided/
surprise attack? Hikuta allows a person to respond very quickly to any attack by retraining his or her natural reflexes to perform a tactical defensive move. This is one you'll have to experience. Who trained Kubler Al in the art of Kuta? (also known as Hikuta) D.O.K. Lee. Kubler Al wrote a letter to the company that produced the Hikuta training materials that DOK Le appeared in and they forwarded the letter to DOK Lee. Then he called Kubler Al, and liked the questions Kubler Al asked and he offered to train him. DOK Lee was looking for some help to do seminars and probably in the back of his mind, someone to pass the art onto.
